Contributor Usage Terms
The Repertory exists because people who care about the integrity of the luxury goods record chose to build it together. Contributors are not users of a product — they are members of a standards body. The work they do here becomes the canonical record that the field relies on.
These terms exist to protect that record. They assume good faith. They state consequences plainly.
1. Nature of Contribution
The Repertory is a voluntary collective standards effort. All contributions are made freely and without compensation of any kind. By participating, you acknowledge:
- Contributions are uncompensated by design — no payment, equity, credit, or professional benefit is owed or implied in exchange for your submissions
- You are a member of a collective, not an employee, contractor, or partner of Ardor House Collective
- Access to The Repertory is a privilege granted by the Repertory Standards Council, not a right, and may be revoked at any time
2. Submission Standards
All submissions must meet the following standards:
- Accuracy: Submit only information you have direct knowledge of or that you have verified through primary sources. Do not submit estimated, guessed, or unverified data as if it were confirmed fact.
- Originality: Submissions must reflect your own observation, research, or expertise. Do not transcribe, copy, or repackage another contributor's submissions as your own.
- Good faith: Every submission should be made with the honest intent to improve the canonical record. Submissions made to game metrics, inflate trust scores, or serve interests outside the collective are a violation of these terms.
- No fabrication: Do not submit data you know to be false, misleading, or incomplete in a material way.
3. Commercial Use Restrictions
Data contributed to The Repertory and the canonical records derived from it may not be:
- Extracted, resold, redistributed, or sublicensed for commercial purposes without an Accredited-tier API license from Ardor House Collective
- Used to build competing databases, tools, or products
- Scraped, harvested, or bulk-exported through any unauthorized means
These restrictions apply regardless of your membership tier. If you are uncertain whether a proposed use is permitted, contact info@therepertory.org before proceeding.
4. Reviewer Conduct
Contributors with reviewer or curator roles carry additional responsibility. If you have been granted reviewer status, you agree to:
- Disclose conflicts of interest: If you have a direct professional, financial, or personal relationship with a brand, seller, or submitter whose record you are asked to review, you must recuse yourself and flag the conflict to a Curator General.
- Maintain independence: Reviewer decisions must be based on the merits of the submission against established standards. Do not allow employer relationships, client relationships, personal relationships, or commercial incentives to influence your review outcomes.
- Document decisions: Rejections and flags must include a reason. A review is not complete without a rationale.
5. Prohibited Conduct
The following are prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or permanent ban:
- Sockpuppeting: Creating or operating multiple accounts, or submitting under multiple identities
- Coordinated submissions: Organizing with other contributors outside the platform to manipulate the review queue or submission volume
- Gaming trust scores: Any action taken with the intent to artificially inflate your approval rate, submission count, or contributor ranking
- Brand-sponsored submissions: Submitting data on behalf of a brand, retailer, authentication service, or any commercial entity with an interest in how the canonical record reflects their products
- Harassment or intimidation: Any conduct targeting another contributor, curator, or Ardor House Collective staff member in a way that is threatening, abusive, or designed to influence platform decisions
6. Consequences
Violations of these terms may result in, at curator discretion:
- A formal warning
- Trust level demotion
- Submission privileges suspended
- Account suspended (temporary or indefinite)
- Permanent ban from The Repertory
The Repertory does not owe you an appeals process, though curators may choose to discuss decisions at their discretion. Consequences are applied based on the severity of the violation and the integrity of the collective record.
7. Point of Agreement Acceptance
By activating your invite token and creating an account, you acknowledge that:
You are joining The Repertory as a voluntary contributor. All contributions are made freely to a collective standards effort. No compensation, payment, equity, or professional credit is owed or implied in exchange for your contributions. You have read and agree to these Contributor Usage Terms, the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy.
Continued participation in The Repertory constitutes ongoing agreement with the current version of all three documents.
8. Changes to These Terms
Ardor House Collective may update these terms as The Repertory evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-platform notice. Continued participation following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
